Agroprodservice held the Easter charitable act “Pysanka of Peace”

On March 23, the act “Pysanka of Peace” was initiated in Ternopil by Agroprodservice company and Orphans’ Future Charitable Foundation.

Children from regional boarding schools practiced in writing pysankas (painted Ukrainian Easter eggs) and mastered skills in it with a help of the Ukrainian Youth Association volunteers.

“Children will receive prizes for the best works. It is their first experience. Some of them have never worked with beeswax and pysachok (stylus). It is a great opportunity for children to try their skills before Easter,” says volunteer of the Orphans’ Future Charitable Foundation Iryna Vakaliuk.

Children from 5 boarding schools, who were divided into three age categories, participated in the event. Their works will be evaluated by judges. Children can receive prizes, including money, for the best pysankas. They may spend that money for financial literacy training.

The main selection criteria are accuracy and pattern complexity. The company will reward winners. Representatives of the Orphans’ Future Charitable Foundation will hold financial literacy training where they will learn effective spending of earned money. Agroprodservice company will reward winners during this training,” says the representative of Agroprodservice company Oleg Udych.

Six pysankas will be sent as presents to the Bishop of Rome. The priest Vasyl Bahlei will personally give them after Easter holidays.
