Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi region landowners united symbolically at the Day of the Unification

On January 22, the residents from Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi region celebrated the Day of the Unification just like all Ukrainians. At this day, the leaders and active members of the Agrarian Party of Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions were at the boundary of two regions along Zbruch river, where the border between Austria-Hungary and the Russian Empire had been previously.

“We began developing 99 years ago as one and united Ukraine. I would like to say, that just believe – the previous fight and the fight which has been lasting for 99 years already, and what is still happening In general – only Ukrainians need this,” says Ivan Chaikivskyi, CEO of “Agroprodservice” company.

The representatives of the Agrarian Party from Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions congratulated each other with traditional national korovai and sheaves. After that they made a human chain which symbolically united two regions.

We have been moving to the modern era, which began in 1991, for hundreds and thousands of years. However, everything for this was grounded in the Kievan Rus. It continued with a real national liberation struggle of our famous Cossacks led by Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. The final stage was consolidation of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic in 1919. All of this let us become independent Ukrainian State,” outlined the Head of Khmelnytskyi regional organization of the Agrarian Party Sehii Ivashchuk.

The Act Zluky (Unification Act) was proclaimed by the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic 99 years ago.
